The inmate who escaped from the Minnesota Security Hospital in St. Peter has been arrested.

Sunday at approximately 1051 AM the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a suspicious person looking into the windows of a residence in rural Saint Peter, MN. The complainant advised Nicollet County Dispatch she believed it to be the missing person from the Minnesota Security Hospital. Moments later officers and deputies arrived on the scene and took the party into custody without incident. Officers and deputies confirmed it was the person of interest from the state hospital and identified him as Michael Ray Caldwell, DOB: 10/16/1991. Caldwell is currently being held in custody pending charges. Nicollet County was assisted by Saint Peter Police and North Mankato Police.
