Political tongues are wagging amid reports that Senator Amy Klobuchar is being vetted as a potential vice-presidential running mate for Democrat Joe Biden. Hamline University analyst David Schultz says if Minnesota is still in play in the race for president, there may be a need for Biden to consider Klobuchar:

“If he doesn’t carry Minnesota’s 10 electoral votes, the Democrats are gonna have to pick up another state that they have traditionally not won, ’cause Minnesota’s been so reliable.”

But Schultz adds, if Democrats think Klobuchar is the key to winning the Midwest, that “may not be an accurate assessment.”
