Minnesota campgrounds will be sitting empty this long holiday weekend due to COVID-19. Liz Rammer, president of Hospitality Minnesota says this weekend is like Christmas for many campground owners:
“Memorial weekend is the start of our season as you all know in Minnesota and Labor Day is the bookend and in between is the Fourth of July. And anyone of those that they miss is a fourth of their revenue. And they only have 100 days to make all their revenue for the year.”
Minnesota campgrounds are slated to open June 1st.
