As the State Fair governing board is scheduled to meet today, they have not been given a formal recommendation from the Minnesota Department of Health on whether or not they could hold the 2020 Great Minnesota Get Together. Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm says what they do share with the board is data, and that data may decide the fate of the fair.

“Unfortunately everything we know, everything we see, even if we are past the peak, which we expect to be, there still will be a great great deal of community spread and a great risk of transmission.”

The fair has not been canceled since 1946.
