Another 28 deaths in long term care facilities are being linked to COVID-19 by the state health department. Against the backdrop of that number, Commissioner Jan Malcolm says they are making progress in preparing long term care facilities to fight the virus.
“So far we’ve provided assistance on infection control measures to over 654 facilities. Including how to properly use PPE and how to prevent, prepare for, and respond to potential outbreaks.”
More than 80% of the deaths reported in the state have taken place in long term care settings.
