Even though Secretary of State Steve Simon is encouraging Minnesotans to absentee vote during COVID-19, he says Minnesota still needs about 30,000 election judges for the upcoming August primary and November elections. Simon says, typically…

“Those are very often very capable folks who do that but some of the people who usually perform that function are in vulnerable categories when it comes to this COVID-19 crisis. They tend to skew much older.”

Simon is encouraging Minnesotans from all demographic groups to ask about working as election judges. He says it pays up to $20 an hour. Anyone interested is urged to call their city or county hall.
