The “pandemic session” is what House Speaker Melissa Hortman terms the 2020 legislative session which ended at midnight. Hortman says there was “incredible bipartisan collaboration” in the battle against COVID-19:

“We passed 550 million dollars of assistance (to) Minnesota small businesses, child care providers, our hospitals, our public health authorities.”

But because of partisan wrangling, the 2020 session left a major task undone — a bonding bill for state public works projects. That remains on lawmakers’ plate for an expected June special session on COVID issues.
