An alternate healthcare site in Roseville that would add to the state’s hospital capacity is about a week away from being ready to open.

“They are probably 2 thirds to 3 quarters of the way through the reconditioning and modifications to that building, and all of that work should be completed by the 22nd of May, so that’s well on track.”

State Emergency Management Director Joe Kelly says the site would be used to treat non-COVID-19 patients requiring low-level medical care or monitoring and that will only happen if existing hospital reserve capacity is maxed out.
