Governor Walz was asked Friday if he wasn’t concern that Minnesotans would no longer follow the stay at home order.

“One of the things that gets lost in this, polling across the across and here overwhelmingly says folks won’t go back unless they feel safe,” said Walz. “They wouldn’t be ignoring a stay-at-home order from me. It’s ignoring public health and science that puts people at risk.”

Walz says opening up immediately would have dire consequences.

“Opening up now would be the equivalent of New York opening up right before they started up their curve,” said Walz.

The state’s stay-at-home order is in effect until May 18th.
