Six weeks ago, the Minnesota legislature passed a two hundred million dollar COVID-19 fund. That fund has a sunset date on Monday. Governor Tim Walz is asking lawmakers to extend it.
“We want lawmakers to move the expiration date from May 11th,” said Walz. “It’s done a lot of good and I hope they can find a compromise by Monday.”
Walz says there are about 65 million dollars left in that fund. He says the fund has been used to purchase testing, personal protective equipment, and alternative sites.
