Beginning today, Monday, May 4, the Mankato location of the Blue Earth County Library System will begin providing contactless pick up for library materials.

Patrons can request materials in one of three ways:

  1. Visiting the Library’s catalog at, search available items (interlibrary loans are not available), and place hold requests for up to 10 items; or
  2. Visit and fill out the No Contact Pick Up Materials Form to requests hold on up to 15 items; or
  3. Call 507-304-4001 to request holds on up to 15 items.

Users will be notified by email or phone when items are available to schedule a pick-up time. A pick-up table will be available at the north entrance (bridge side).

Upon arrival to the Library, individuals will need to call 507-304-4019 and provide Library staff with their name. A staff member will place items on the pick-up table by the entrance. Users may approach the table only after staff have re-entered the building.

All users must have a Library card, but those without one may register over the phone. There is no cost to participate and items can be returned at patrons’ convenience fine-free until 30 days after the re-opening of the Mankato Library location.

Currently, the re-opening of the Library remains unknown. When a decision is made, it will be communicated on the Library’s website, social media channels, and traditional media.

Returned materials will not be accepted at the contactless pick up table; please use the book drops for returns.
