Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said Wednesday he will release more details on the state’s next steps in the COVID-19 pandemic Thursday. Walz’s stay at home order is scheduled to end next Monday.
“It’s not like a light switch,” said Walz. “Trust me, as the governor of Minnesota the last thing you want to do is shut down your businesses, maybe next to shutting down your businesses, re-opening them, and shutting them down again.”
Walz says people can expect to see a move towards more opening if residents can continue to social distance and if the state can ramp up the testing. Walz made the comments at a press conference at the temporarily closed JBS meat-processing facility in Worthington Wednesday afternoon.
