More than 100 workers at a central Minnesota poultry processor walked off the job last night.

The workers at Pilgrim’s Pride in Cold Spring are protesting how the facility is handling worker safety during the COVID-19 crisis. Worker concerns include a lack of transparency about COVID-19 exposure of workers and some employees coming back to work too soon after being sent home with symptoms. Pilgrim’s Pride says they provided screening and personal protective equipment to workers, adding no symptomatic employee has been encouraged to come back to work before the required quarantine period is over.
