As anticipated, Governor Walz announced that distance learning will be in place for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. With this change, May 1 and May 4 will now be used for distance learning planning days across Mankato Area Public Schools. The Minnesota Department of Education has indicated they will provide additional guidance to assist districts through the remaining weeks of school, and updates will continue to be shared with families.
Today’s news was difficult news to hear, and we want nothing more than to be back in school with students. Although we are unable to do so, I am thankful that the health and safety of students, families, staff and communities remain the top priority of Governor Walz and his administration.
As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me if I can be of service.
