Are pregnant women at higher risk of contracting COVID-19 or passing it onto their newborns? The question was asked of Dr. Mark Taylor, an OBGYN with Mankato Clinic.

“We don’t believe that pregnant women are more likely to get COVID-19, get a more serious case of COVID-19 or pass it on to their baby,” said Taylor. “Even if there is a risk it’s an extremely low risk.”

Taylor says anyone with pre-existing or underlying health conditions, including pregnant women, is at a greater risk to contract coronavirus.
