Governor Walz wants to see 40-thousand COVID-19 tests per day administered in the state. Last week, the state was conducting about one-fourth of that level. Walz was asked when the number of tests would increase

“Soon I hope,” said Walz. “If not we’re going to be stuck in this for a while.”

Walz says the state is working to break down some barriers

“What’s the cost? Who’s going to pay for it? Where are we going to get the swabs for it? That’s our job to break down these barriers,” said Walz.

Last week, Walz stated he wanted to see 40-thousand tests per day by May fourth, the scheduled date of his current stay at home order.
