Golfers flocked to the state’s courses over the weekend after Governor Walz okayed recreational golf to start on Saturday. Tom Ryan is the executive director of the Minnesota Golf Association:
“As soon as the executive order came out, I guess the phones were ringing off the hooks at several of the public facilities around town. And, I know Steve Willock over at Oak Marsh said within about 90 minutes he had both Saturday and Sunday filled, and I was hearing that from a number of other courses.”
Ryan says there are special guidelines players must follow to ensure safety and health. That includes paying before you golf, driving to the course alone, practicing social distancing while golfing, and leaving immediately with no socializing after the round.
