Water usage in the city of Mankato has gone down since the state enacted a stay at home order. Mankato water plant superintendent Kyle Hinrichs says from March 15th to April 15th, the city on average used 357-thousand gallons less water per day as compared to the average of that time period over the past five years. Hinrichs says with the increase in sanitary practices consumption would increase, but with other activities being canceled, including schools, businesses, and restaurants, that has offset set any increase in sanitary practices.
