An extension of unemployment insurance is now fully available in Minnesota. Department of Employment and Economic Development commissioner Steve Grove says the extension was made possible by the federal government through the CARES act.
“If you are near or at the end of your unemployment benefits, all you have to do is log in to your account and indicate that you are still unemployed and you will be eligible for an additional 13 weeks of unemployment insurance.”
Grove says there are an estimated eight-thousand Minnesotans close to running out of unemployment insurance. Anyone in the state is eligible for the extension.
