A negative milestone has been reached when it comes to unemployment applications in Minnesota.
“We are now up to double the number of applications in the last month compared to what we saw in 2019,” said Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Steve Grove. “Last year, we had 219, 625 applications for the year. Since March 16th, we’ve had 451,790 applications for unemployment insurance.”
Grove says that total represents 14 percent of the state’s workforce.
