The Blue Earth County Library and North Mankato Taylor Library are excited to begin a new program that allows residents to receive books by mail beginning Monday, April 6. The program is made possible by a grant from the COVID-19 Community Response Fund, a collaborative effort of the Greater Mankato Area United Way and Mankato Area Foundation.

The mission of the Books by Mail program is to get fun, educational materials to community families and children who are staying safe at home.

Residents who want to receive materials should call the Library within their County to arrange delivery of up to three items from the Library’s current catalog. All users must have a Library card, but those without one may register over the phone. There is no cost to participate and items can be returned at patrons’ convenience. There will be no fines for late materials.

The Blue Earth County Library System consists of three locations; Mankato, Mapleton, and Lake Crystal. Visit their website at for additional information or call (507) 304-4001.
