Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is warning Minnesotans about a reported spike in phishing attacks related to COVID-19.

Phishing is a scam where thieves attempt to steal personal or financial account information by sending deceptive electronic messages that trick unsuspecting consumers into disclosing personal information. Ellison recommends Minnesotans check email addresses and domains carefully before opening emails, look for misspellings and poor grammar and don’t click on links from unknown sources. Anyone who wishes to file a complaint can do so at the A-G’s website.
