The State of Minnesota has received nearly 150-thousand applications for unemployment insurance in the last week. Steve Grove, the director of the Department of Employment and Economic Development, says the applications have primarily come from four sectors.
“We’ve seen 48,540 applications from the foodservice industry,” said Grove. “From the personal care industry 10, 844 applications. From the sales and service industry 10.657 and from the office and administrative support 9,271.”
Grove says 63 percent of applicants have been women and 32-thousand applications have come from those aged 22-29.
