State Senator Nick Frentz of North Mankato says decisions to close down businesses in the name of public health are never an easy one. Frentz says prior to making that decision, he feels the state did a good job of dotting their I’s and crossing their T’s.
“The state basically said you’re eligible for unemployment right away,” said Frentz. “They also told employers you don’t have to kick in your share of unemployment insurance. That makes it easier for the workers who have been laid or likely soon will be laid off.”
The legislature unanimously approved a 200 million dollar emergency funding bill for the COVID-19 outbreak earlier this week.
