The Minnesota Better Business Bureau is cautioning consumers to beware of scammers taking advantage of an anxious public amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Spokeswoman Bao (bau) Vang says so far, no scams have been reported here in Minnesota, but on the BBB radar elsewhere…

“So the majority of scams are related to one company called EM General, they apparently sell facemasks, the general experience based on these reports, and again anyone can find these, is that consumers pay for masks that they aren’t receiving.”

Vang encourages Minnesotans who are unsure of deals that seem too good to be true to visit BBB’s Scam Tracker tool which collects consumer reports on illegal schemes or fraud.
