Kids impacted by the closing of schools due to COVID-19 may be a bit anxious or confused and may have a lot of questions for parents. Elizabeth Criswell is the Early Childhood Education Curriculum Coordinator at the University of Minnesota and she says…

“I think a good place to start is to respond to what children are asking, or even just starting a conversation with them asking them what they already have heard, what they’ve heard about.”

Criswell says it’s important for parents to manage their own anxiety about the unknown when it comes to COVID-19. And she says it’s a good idea for parents to establish a routine for themselves and their kids while they’re sequestered at home.
