The Mayo Clinic says it will defer all elective care than can be deferred for eight or more weeks. Mayo representatives announced the decision Tuesday afternoon in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Mayo says this will include elective surgeries, procedures, and office visits. Clinic representatives say semi-urgent, urgent and emergency care will continue in clinic and hospital settings. Mayo says the decision is being made to ensure the safest possible environment for our patients and staff and to free up resources to assist in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
