Sunday, The Minnesota Department of Public Health confirmed a case of coronavirus in Waseca County. Waseca County public health director Sarah Berry.

“This case was a travel-related case and a not community transmission,” said Berry. “But we do expect that community transmission could very well occur in the near future.”

Berry says having coronavirus in the community is a good reminder for persons to do what they can to avoid contracting or spreading it.

“We would encourage folks to do what they would normally do to fight the spread of disease, ” said Berry. “Stay home if you’re sick, wash your hand frequently and avoid touching your face.”

Coronavirus has been confirmed in 13 Minnesota counties, including Blue Earth.
