State health officials say if you have coronavirus symptoms and can manage those symptoms by isolation, you don’t need to be tested.

“You do not need to be tested for COVID-19 if they are in a situation where they are able to manage their symptoms at home,” said Minnesota Department of Health Spokesperson Kris Ehresmann . “The recommendations for staying home are the same regardless of whether or not someone tests positive. Since there is no treatment for mild cases, there is no clinical decision based on the test result.”

Ehresmann says the priority for tests will be hospital patients and health care workers.
