Highway 93 from Highway 169 to Henderson opened the evening of March 12, after being closed since March 8 due to flooding on the Rush River.  Crews have been working to clear debris off the road and make repairs to shoulders and culverts.

The shoulders of southbound Highway 93 are extremely soft due to exposure to the floodwaters. MnDOT is advising no travel on the shoulders until they dry out and repairs can be made.

MnDOT crews will continue to monitor area highways and bridges to ensure motorists safety.

Highways open:

  • Highway 93 south of Henderson (closed March 8 – open March 12 by 6 p.m.)
  • Highway 99 Minnesota River Bridge at St. Peter (closed March 8 – open March 9)

When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
