Minnesota air travelers who need to apply for a REAL ID can save themselves some time by stopping at a new REAL ID office at MSP International Airport’s Terminal 1. The office opened at the airport on Monday. Governor Tim Walz says:

“You can’t get it on the same day, the requirements of getting this, it takes a little bit of time, we have to plan ahead.”

Starting October 1st, Minnesotans will not be able to use a standard driver’s license or ID card to board domestic flights or enter federal facilities. Instead, they will need a REAL ID, enhanced driver’s license or ID card, passport or passport card or another acceptable form of identification.
