Joe Biden is the winner of Minnesota’s Democratic presidential primary, upsetting rival Bernie Sanders who got roughly 30 percent of the vote to Biden’s 38 percent. Elizabeth Warren was a distant third at 15 percent, followed by Michael Bloomberg with 8 percent. Biden Minnesota spokesman Corey Day indicates the major factor was Senator Amy Klobuchar’s endorsement:

“She was a rock star and just leaned in, in the heavy way, to make sure that we got through the hump here.”

And Day says because Minnesota is no longer a presidential caucus state, Biden did better than Sanders among a large stream of Democratic voters.
