Minnesotans for a Smoke-Free Generation is praising two proposals at the State Capitol that aim to cut down on youth tobacco use. Spokeswoman Laurie Smith says one of the bills would prohibit the sale of all flavored tobacco products in Minnesota.

“And it’s a huge step there have already been two states that have passed a policy like this and we think this will go along way to reduce youth tobacco use and also help alleviate some of the tobacco-related health disparities we have in Minnesota.”

The other proposal would help protect kids 18 and under riding in vehicles from secondhand smoke and aerosol. The next legislative session begins on February 11th.
