Two area projects have been awarded grants from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development to improve broadband access. Nuvera Communications will receive 385-thousand dollars for a Southwest New Ulm Project and BEVCOMM will receive nearly 580-thousand dollars for a Rural Faribault County Project. The funds were part of over 20 million dollars in grants announced by DEED through its Border-to-Border Broadband Development Grant Program. State officials say the goal of the program is to bring high-quality broadband access to underserved and unserved areas of Minnesota.
