Waseca was not selected as one of the five finalists as part of the Small Business Revolution TV show. After Waseca was selected as a top-ten finalist in November, the show announced its top five finalists to receive five hundred thousand dollars in services and goods to help boost the small business economy this morning. Waseca area chamber of commerce executive director Ann Fitch says the experience was a positive for the community.

“It’s been really exciting just to be a part of this,” said Fitch. “It’s been a great unifier for the community. We’re still coming out on top.”

Show co-host Amanda Brinkman offered this advice to the communities that weren’t named in the final five.

“If you really use the momentum of this process, those are the towns that really get it”, said Brinkman. “Being included in the top ten was meant to be a good thing. We’ve seen examples in the past, Brainerd, Minnesota being a good example, of towns using this to drive into the future.”

The show, in its fifth season, airs on Hulu.
