Minnesota Governor Tim Walz included a project at Minnesota State in his Higher Education Bonding Proposal, which was released on Monday. The Governor is proposing to replace Armstrong Hall on the Mankato campus. Walz is earmarking six-point-six-nine-one million dollars for design and renovation for the replacement of what a press release on the proposal called a heavily used, outdated building. Walz released the third or four bonding proposals Tuesday. The Governor wants to include over two billion dollars in projects for his bonding bill. Senate Republicans say they’re more comfortable with a bonding bill over under a billion dollars saying the state must be responsible in how much debt it takes on.
