A Mankato man is facing several charges after allegedly beating a child last week. Blue Earth County court records say 38-year-old Jean Ntirenganya was charged with threats of violence, malicious punishment of a child, two counts of fifth-degree assault and interference with a peace officer. Authorities say the investigation began on January seventh when a 9-year-old child told a mandatory reporter that the suspect beat the child with a wire for not getting ready for bed.
