A Faribault man is facing numerous charges after his vehicle allegedly struck a parked vehicle early Wednesday morning in Mankato. Blue Earth County court records say 22-year-old Abdikerim Nur was charged with fourth-degree assault on a peace officer, threats of violence, interference with a peace officer, interfering with a 9-1-1 call, driving while impaired, refusal to submit to a chemical test, fleeing a peace officer by means other than a motor vehicle and failing to notify the victim or police of a traffic collision. Authorities say the incident started when a witness to the accident stopped to see if Nur needed any help. While the witness was calling 9-1-1, Nur allegedly grabbed the phone and ran away. Authorities say as police caught up with Nur, he allegedly bit an officer and repeatedly kicked him in the torso. Court records say Nur was taken to the hospital but he refused to provide a blood or urine sample and he allegedly fought officers and emergency room personnel.
