Travel remains an issue this morning as many roads in the area are partially or completely covered with snow. Jed Falgren with MnDOT district seven says allowing yourself extra time to get to your destination is imperative.

“It’s the most significant thing you can do,” said Falgren. “Obviously, we want you checking, planning your route, turning your headlights, etc, but nothing beats slowing down in terms of maintaining control.”

Blowing snow could be an issue again today. The National Weather Service says winds in the Mankato area are forecast out of the northwest at ten to fifteen miles per hour with gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.
