The area will see a warm-up this weekend with temperatures expected in the upper 30s to mid-40s. Will it warm enough to erase a white Christmas? Mike Griesinger with the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities says no.

“I think we have enough snow to keep the white Christmas going,” said Griesinger. “It’s not ideal snow-melting weather. We will be in the 40s but overnight lows will still be in the 20s and the sun is at its lowest angle of the year.”

The National Weather Service says the next chance of precipitation is Christmas Eve when there’s a 20 percent chance of snow after midnight.
