The Holiday season provides a lot of opportunities to eat from family get-togethers to office parties. How does one manage holiday food in as healthy of a way as possible? Danette Peterson is a dietician with Profile by Sanford. She says avoid temptation if possible.

“Try not to station yourself by the food,” said Peterson. “Visual cues can be very strong. If you’re standing by the food you’re probably going to eat it.”

Health coach Dawn Naples with Profile by Sanford says it’s important to eat on a regular of a schedule as possible.

“Eat your balanced breakfast and lunch, ” said Naples. “Make decisions on what you’re going to have prior to going and stick with those decisions.”

Both Peterson and Naples say for those wanting to make New Year’s resolutions they should make a realistic plan a person can stick to and make set unrealistic goals.
