A proposal to change the structure of the Eagle Lake Police Department has been withdrawn. The issue was discussed last week by the Eagle Lake City Council. City administrator Jennifer Bromeland says after an hour of public input, the council decided to leave the existing structure as is. City leaders were considering eliminating the police chief position; adding a third full-time officer and contracting with the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Department for administrative duties. Bromeland says there will be no changes to police coverage as of right now and no future discussions are planned at this time.
