A Mankato man is facing numerous charges after leading police on a brief chase Friday morning and attempting to run away from police after he stopped the vehicle. Blue Earth County court records say 37-year-old Brooks Peterson was charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, fifth-degree possession of marijuana, child endangerment and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. Authorities say an officer attempted to pull over Peterson after failed to use his turn signal on three consecutive turns. The report says Peterson stopped the vehicle and attempted to run away from officers but tripped and fell as officers converged. Authorities add a juvenile passenger, who had an outstanding warrant from St. Louis County, was also captured by officers at the scene.
