North Mankato Mayor Mark Dehen says his city usually doesn’t make a practice of calling a snow emergency.
“We try to be respectful of our neighbors and not call snow emergencies because we recognize the inconvenience for people who don’t have off-street parking.”
Dehen says there is a trade-off
“We ask our residents to try to get their cars out of the way so when the plows get to a street they can clean them curb to curb,” said Dehen
Dehen says the city recently started an alert system in case the city calls a snow emergency. More information about the alert system is available on the city’s website.
