Crews are out this morning trying to clear the roadways of snow and ice. Mankato streets superintendent Joe Grabianowski says if you see a plow give them some room.

“Four of our trucks run in tandem pairs and they’re running the majors,” said Grabianowski. “So just stay back so we can do our jobs. Leave a little early so you can have some time to get to where you need to go.”

Grabianowski says there’s a simple way residents can help crews clear the roads as soon as possible.

“Get cars off the streets,” said Grabianowski. “If we didn’t have any cars on the streets we could do our jobs more efficiently and be more effective.”

Grabianowski says with the holiday city ramps are open to park in free of charge.
