State Senator Rich Draheim of Madison Lake says he would like to see Minnesotans have the opportunity to re-import prescription drugs. Draheim says they’re looking to cut out the middle man in the process as a way of saving dollars for consumers.

“If it’s an approved drug, manufactured and labeled for US consumption and sold in a foreign country, we want to be able to sell that directly to the pharmacists, by-pass the pharmacy benefit manager, so the pharmacists can sell it directly to consumers, I think that will save money,” said Draheim.

Draheim held a listening post on the issue in New Prague last week.
