Local anti-smoking advocates are disappointed after President Trump is reportedly backing off a plan to ban some flavored vaping products. Laura Smith with Minnesotans for a Smoke-Free Generation says
“About 2/3 of youth who said they’re using e-cigs in the last tobacco survey said they were using mint and menthol flavors so that just goes to show powerful they are in attracting kids”
Smith says about 70-percent of kids surveyed said they use e-cigs because they like the flavors offered. The White House says Trump is committed to responsibly protecting children’s health.
