It’s the second weekend of the firearms deer hunting season. The DNR’s Barb Keller says harvest numbers look good so far. She says there was however some concern going into last weekend’s hunt because of all the standing corn across the state:
“Which can affect harvest success as deer are able to hide more readily in the corn. So that’s something we will be keeping an eye on moving forward and when we get a chance to look at those regional numbers it may explain a slight decrease from last year.”
At last check around 100-thousand deer have been harvested so far.
