Mankato’s annual photo contest encourages citizen involvement and showcases Mankato’s quality of life, spaces and places. The top three winning photos are placed in rotating feature on home page of Mankato’s website and online calendar. The first and second place photos are enlarged and framed, including an engraved plaque that credits photographer. They are placed in a city building for public viewing. Winning and honorable mention photos may be used in Mankato’s communication pieces, social media–Facebook, Twitter and Instagram–and city website throughout the year.
More than 200 entries were judged by Jackson Forderer, a photographer at “The Free Press,” Mankato. First place winner receives a $100 gift certificate to the civic center, courtesy of Quality 1 Hour Foto/SPX Sports–this year’s sponsor of the city’s photo contest.
