A young boy who went missing near Clear Lake on Tuesday afternoon, prompting a massive volunteer search effort, has been found safe.

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office posted an update to their Facebook page just before two this morning saying six-year-old Ethan was found safe approximately a mile and a half from his home in a cornfield with his dog.

The boy had been missing nearly ten hours after getting off a school bus with his siblings and then running off to play with the family dog. In addition to partnering law enforcement agencies around 600 volunteers turned out to look for Ethan.

Ultimately a volunteer with a thermal drone found Ethan.   Officials are expected to release more details today.

Meanwhile, Ethan is recovering at the hospital.
